Dennya is a line of handmade clothing by Dyanne Marte. Dennya consists of knit jersey clothing made of modal and spandex blends. The limited edition clothing is offered in sizes extra small, small, medium, large, extra large and extra extra large. Most peices are machine washable and can be shortened or lengthened for free!
About Us
What Is Dennya?
Dennya is a line of clothing designed by Dyanne Marte. Playing with the spelling of her first name, Marte decided on "Dennya" because it was a memorable login name for one of her email accounts (not to worry, she no longer uses that account). Many of her customers call her Dennya, and she 's ok with it.
What started out as a line primarily of knit jersey, has tranformed into more sophisticated and tailored pieces. Most of the line is machine washable and versatile. The clothing can be dressed up or dressed down. Marte not only designs the collection, she also produces it and designs all of the prints in her Baltimore, MD Studio.
Prior to starting Dennya in 2003, Marte has several years of experience in the New York fashion industry and has worked in product development for companies such as J. Crew, Tanner Designs, Kay Unger and New York & Co. Marte holds a BFA in Fashion Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Master's in Design Management from Pratt Institute. Marte is currently teaching fashion at the Baltimore City Community College and the Community College of Baltimore County.
Our Design Process
We design and produce every piece of clothing and accessory in house. We do this because we believe that beautiful hand craftsmanship is an art form that is disappearing with the growth of globalization and outsourcing. We are committed to designing clothing and accessories that are comfortable and make our customers look and feel great! With that comes the responsibility to source the best quality fabrics, trims and embellishments.
Our Production process
Many of our customers ask us why we do not sell to mass merchants. The answer is simply that we are not mass producers. As we have mentioned, we manufacture all of our clothing here in our studio. Therefore, our prices are higher than those of mass-produced goods. Cost of manufacturing in the U.S. is many times that of Far East countries and mass merchants have the advantage of economies of scale. When mass merchants purchase 2,000 units of the same top, they can sell that top for a much lower price than small U.S. designers. Small domestic designers must factor in operational and labor costs.
We manufacture small lots in limited quantities mainly to control quality and so that our customers feel a sense of exclusivity. You will not see many other people in garments that have been purchased from Dennya. We will not produce more than 30- 50 pieces of a style per season. Most of the time, we produce each piece when the order is placed. When this happens it can take up to one week to produce the order because we cut the fabric, sew it, and finish it before its ready to be shipped. Therefore, we do not keep inventory except for times when there is demand for an item.

This fall our focus is on cozy warm wool knits mixed with modal. jersey in bright jewel tones of violet, teal navy, ruby and Bright fuchsia are contrasting with warm earth tones. Each season we are challenged to come up with fresh colorways and this season Was not different! We are pairing turquoise, Dark ruby and salmon and combining taupe with turquoise, making the clothing fun, functional and comfortable!

We drew inspiration from the boardwalks of Southern California. Whether they are beautiful boardwalks of Santa Barbara, Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach or The San Diego Boardwalk, we remembered taking our time relaxing, soaking in the sun and people watching. This season we used a more "sweet" color palette. We paired coral pink with lime green and pink with coral and oranges. The effect is to remind us of all the cotton candy and taffy we used to enjoy at the boardwalk!
For this season we were inspired by 1960' s and 1970's colors and styles and we wanted to evoke the spirit of those times by adding a few elements such as the color blocking of the maxi dress and tunics. To balance the bold geometric colors and shapes, we decided to work with more delicate prints making the the overall look very Dennya. We also revisited our very popular tunic, making it shorter and adding more shape.

This season we looked to Miami's South Beach for inspiration. Instead of choosing a bright color as our base we decided to spice things up with cacao brown. its so dark and bitter that it's perfect for the colors that we chose to work with this season. We also reference Miami through the artwork and screens from flamingos to the art deco ivy floral print of our wrap dresses.

Free Shipping & Handling
Your order will ship free of charge within 5-10 business days based on availability of merchandise. If an item is unavailable or will be delayed we will notify you via e-mail. We ship via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and insurance anywhere in the Continental United States. Please contact us for rates on overnight, and orders placed outside the continental US. If you would like to place an overseas order please e-mail us at info_dennyaco.com for our terms, conditions and shipping rates.
Return/Exchange Policy
We will be happy to make an exchange or refund your credit card for any purchase that you are not 100% satisfied with, within 30 days of the ship date. There is a 25% restocking fee for merchandise returned after the 30 days. The item(s) must be returned unused, in perfect condition bearing tags and/or any special protective or packing materials. Please ship back securely packed, insured and with a request for signature for your own protection. Custom made and/or items that we hem for you are non-refundable. There is an $8 shipping fee for exchanges.

We will lengthen and shorten your pants and skirts/ dresses free of charge!
For Skirts: Please take measurement from side seam if dress or skirt from natural waist down to desired length and add the length in inches to "notes" in Paypal checkout.
For Pants: Please measure your inseam (length of inside pant leg) and add measurementto "notes" in Paypal. checkout.
